Words Matter
In the pursuit of identity
We learn words matter
It’s why we grasp for those
That would provoke
To cause voter affiliation, or
Disdain for the opposition
Politicians hurl out their favorites
It’s why Socialism is been replayed
From my aged vantage point
I’ve learned truth is found
On the teeter of a balance
In struggle with it’s exploitation
On the equilibrium of economics:
Capitalism reflects our aspiration
While Socialism our humanity
Democracy manages the fulcrum
As compassion dulls
Our worse instincts
So-Capitalism becomes
Entwined with Socialism
